The Mission
Our mission is to close the gap between the skills people have, and the skills they need for the jobs of tomorrow.
The Origin Story
ReSkill was born at a Startup Weekend competition, in Calgary, Canada in early 2018. The idea was to address the large and growing skills gap between the skills people have, and the skills they need for future jobs. Particular to Calgary, we felt that while the city had much technical skill in the Energy sector, it did not necessarily have the right skills for the coming 4th industrial revolution.
And we weren't the only ones to believe this! We won 1st place that weekend, and have continued on with our original mission ever since. Listen to our story!
Tech Stack 2.0
During that weekend, we discovered that there exists tremendous desire to learn software development skills, but having the desire to learn, and knowing what to learn, were two very different things.
This is we heard from people when we asked them about why they haven't learned programming.
There are so many different types of programming languages, I don't know where to begin. And I don't know what employers value now, let alone in the future!
With that in mind, we created Tech Stack 2.0, the anti-bootcamp of modern software development.
What you will get from this course is an understanding of how a suite of technologies are used together by software developers to build modern applications. Our goal is to get you to a comfort level where you are able to ask the right questions and continue learning on your own.
What you will not get from this course are lengthy and costly lessons that you can easily learn on your own (and should) with free resources, if you only knew what you should learn. We'll even provide links to the free resources we recommend, that will complement what you will learn from Tech Stack 2.0.
